The objective of the Advanced Manicurist Course, which requires 300 hours of training in Ohio, is to give the student a comprehensive understanding of manicuring, artificial nail application and other necessary related skills, including salon management. Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to successfully demonstrate the skills needed to pass the Ohio State Board Examination, as well as the professional skills that will be required of a managing manicurist in a licensed salon.
The course in Advanced Manicuring here at the Academy includes training on conventional manicuring and pedicuring as well as sculptured nails, and nail tips with overlays.
When the student has completed the basic training portion of the course, which involves approximately 100 hours of the theory and practice of basic manicuring and nail application, they will be allowed to begin performing nail services on clinic patrons. Students will continue to improve and refine their skills as they progress through the course. Management classes will also be incorporated throughout the course.
